3DGS
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) delivers real-time, photorealistic radiance field rendering using anisotropic volumetric primitives instead of traditional meshes or neural grids.
3DGS represents a paradigm shift in neural rendering by replacing coordinate-based MLPs with millions of learned 3D Gaussians. This approach achieves 1080p resolution at 100+ FPS on standard hardware (like an NVIDIA RTX 3080) while maintaining training times under 30 minutes for complex scenes. By utilizing a tile-based rasterizer and alpha-blending, the technology produces high-fidelity visuals that surpass NeRF in both speed and clarity. It is currently the industry standard for rapid digital twin creation and immersive VR environments.
