Chest X-ray Imaging
Chest X-ray Imaging (CXR): The foundational, high-speed diagnostic tool for immediate, low-dose assessment of the heart, lungs, and skeletal structures.
This is the workhorse of medical imaging: the Chest X-ray (CXR) is the most frequently performed diagnostic exam, delivering critical data fast (typically under 15 minutes). We employ standard two-view protocols (PA and Lateral) to visualize the entire cardiopulmonary system and chest wall. CXR is essential for diagnosing acute conditions like pneumonia, pneumothorax, and pulmonary edema (a sign of congestive heart failure). Furthermore, it’s the go-to for confirming proper placement of medical devices, including central lines, endotracheal tubes, and pacemakers, ensuring immediate patient safety and treatment efficacy.
