TipTap provides developers full control over the editing experience by decoupling the logic from the UI. It supports React, Vue, and JavaScript integrations, powering collaborative platforms like Nextcloud and GitLab. The engine uses a modular extension system (over 45 core extensions) to handle everything from real-time collaboration via Hocuspocus to complex tables and interactive task lists.
