WSDOT

WSDOT provides the critical infrastructure and real-time data systems that power Washington State's multimodal transportation network.

WSDOT manages a massive technological ecosystem comprising 18,650 lane miles of highway, 1,643 traffic cameras, and the largest ferry system in the United States. The agency utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to deploy adaptive signal timing, automated speed enforcement, and real-time traveler information via a robust API. Key initiatives like Cooperative Automated Transportation (CAT) and the Good To Go! electronic tolling system integrate hardware and software to reduce congestion and improve safety across the Pacific Northwest. From operating 351 commercial vehicle restriction monitors to maintaining 16 mountain pass weather stations, WSDOT leverages data-driven operations to keep 7.8 million residents moving.
