Cannabidiol
, or more affectionately and simply known as CBD, is a fascinating little molecule. It grows in a plant called
Cannabis sativa
, which you may know as marijuanas less-euphoric cousin. After CBD products became legal in
2018
, CBD companies have sprung up across the US. Now, CBD sits in cute little bottles right at the gas station register, and in the grocery store check-out aisles right alongside those pink lollipops your kiddos been screaming for.
But, how much of what we read and hear about CBD is just hogwash meant to razzle-dazzle us into buying CBD products? Well, here, my friends, are some things no one is talking about.
And I
know
, because Ive been researching and writing about CBD for over five years. And I
know
what
they
cant tell you.

Research
One might think that if you see a product online or in your local grocery store that theres been tons of conclusive research on it showing that it is both safe and effective. While it is
generally widely accepted
that CBD is non habit-forming and safe for pretty much everyone, we are working with very limited research.
The research on CBD and other cannabinoids began this century with the discovery of CBD in the
1940s
, and of later the findings of a curious Israeli chemist, Raphael Mechoulam, the
Father of Cannabis
, who simply wanted to know what it was in marijuana that makes people high. Hence, the discovery of THC.
While research studies and trials are numerous today, much of this research is ongoing. This leaves us with mountains of positive anecdotal evidence thats steadily out-pacing the scientific research, igniting a firestorm of CBD products and sales that number in dozens of billions of dollars, worldwide, each year. So, before you buy, do a little research of your own on those claims you may read on the attractive little bottles.
